A nice follow-up on my previous “Scots go home” post on the news yesterday. A Scotsman had been involved in a fight outside a club in Plymouth. Caught by the police and put in front of the courts the judge decided to ban the individual from England! The man concerned agreed to go back and live with his parents in Scotland and not return to England for a period of five years. He also asked if he could be allowed to travel to Liverpool to see “his” team play. The judge refused, saying that he should have thought of that before he committed his crime.
Now I can see the funny side of this, although I guess that the individual concerned can’t – but how on earth are they going to police it? It’s not as if there are border checks between the two countries – now there’s a thought…
